- 解釈：鞍掛け馬（木馬）に乗って練習をし、本物の馬に乗って練習をしない事。理屈や方法に精通しているだけでは、実際には役に立たないたとえ。
- Literal：It trains on the horse which hung the saddle.
- Interpretation：It trains with rocking horse. Knowledge without practice makes but half an artist. Only by reason, it is not useful in fact.
- 類義：畳の上の水練。木馬の達人。
